About the Studio
Spokane Aerial Performance Arts opened in September of 2011 (Sept 11, 2011 performance shown above). Hoping to teach a few friends some aerial silks, the first ever class opened with a bang, 41 students. Before anyone knew it Spokane Aerial had 189 students (within 1 year) and a monthly gig at a popular restaurant. Over the past decade, Spokane Aerial has performed between 30 and 35 times per year in the Greater Spokane Area for private parties, corporate events, community festivals and self-produced shows. With new and growing aerial programs, Spokane Aerial Performance Arts has scheduled their big 2023 show, with over 60 performers, for November 3, 2023.

Born From Passion

Teaching students to celebrate their bodies in a safe and challenging environment

Personal Growth

Our mission is to foster a community of acceptance, no matter what age or body type, by supporting personal growth through the aerial arts.

Community

At Spokane Aerial Arts, we believe aerial arts is for everybody. It is for anyone who wants to gain strength, find a community, and experience professional troupe.

A Creative Outlet

Our classes help build strength and flexibility while providing a fun and unique creative outlet.

Meet Our Founder

"At the age of 12, while sitting in my first ever health education class, I decided all I ever wanted to be was healthy. Finishing college with a degree in Health Education, I began my life-long quest of health, fitness and (surprisingly) performance."

Sherrie Martin

Sherrie Martin has owned Spokane Aerial Performance Arts since it’s opening in September 2011. Sherrie has a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Education and has been an athlete and coach her entire life.

Personally, Sherrie is also a competitive adult gymnast (at age 64), a physical comedian performing her one woman shows around the country and a Realtor. Sherrie has introduced the modern circus to the Spokane Community and continues to be a motivator of aerialists, performers and athletes.
